Bayern Munich Edge Arsenal to Reach Champions League Semis

Kimmich's Header Sends Gunners Crashing Out

Arsenal's European Dream Ends in Disappointment

Arsenal's hopes of reaching the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009 were dashed on Wednesday as they were knocked out by Bayern Munich. The Gunners had held the German giants to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, but they were unable to find a way past Manuel Neuer in the return fixture.

Joshua Kimmich's bullet header in the 14th minute proved to be the only goal of the game, and it was enough to send Bayern through to the last four with a 3-2 aggregate victory. Arsenal had chances to equalize, but they were unable to make the most of them, and they will now have to focus on securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The defeat will come as a major disappointment to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who had guided his team to the FA Cup last season and had them competing for the Premier League title this term. However, they have now been knocked out of both domestic cups and the Champions League, and they will need to regroup quickly if they are to achieve their goals for the season.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, will be delighted to have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the eighth time in the last 10 years. They will be confident of going all the way this year, and they will be one of the favorites to lift the trophy in Istanbul on June 10.
